LEADER - LITURGY of the WORD for CHILDREN Help
school-age children hear and celebrate the Sunday Mass scriptures
at their own level. Time commitment is one Mass per month, plus
1 hour of preparation time. CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD (ATRIUM) Teach
children the foundations of the Church and nourish them in the
Faith Foundation. Time commitment is 2 hours per week from September
through May, plus some additional training time. CATECHIST - SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION Share
the scriptural and liturgical foundations of the Catholic faith
with children preparing to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation
and Eucharist. CATECHIST - LITTLE CHURCH Share
God’s word with preschool children. Time commitment is 1
hour on Sunday mornings, plus 1 hour of preparation time (September – May
session or Summer session). CATECHIST - KIDS OF THE KINGDOM Share
God’s word and our faith with children in 1st grade through
3rd grade. Time commitment is 90 minutes per weekly session on
Tuesday plus 1 hour preparation time (September – May). CATECHIST - CHRIST THE KING KIDS CLUB Teach
children in grades 4, 5, and 6 the foundations of the Catholic
faith in a fun and enthusiastic way. Time commitment is 90 minutes
per weekly session on Tuesday evening plus 1 hour preparation time
(September – May). DISCIPLES for DISCIPLES This
team provides spiritual enrichment opportunities tot hose working
in Youth Ministry for the purpose of continued growth in their
personal spiritual life. CATECHIST - JUNIOR HIGH THE EDGE Help
plan and facilitate events and presentations to meet the spiritual,
social, educational, and emotional, needs of 7th and 8th graders.
Time commitment is 2 hours per week each Tuesday evening, plus
additional planning time. CATECHIST - TEEN CONFIRMATION Help
plan and facilitate events and presentations to meet the spiritual
needs of high-school youth preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Time commitment is 1 Saturday per month, plus one retreat over
a one-year commitment. LIFE TEEN CORE TEAM Help
plan and facilitate events and presentations to meet the spiritual,
emotional, social, and educational needs of high-school youth. PRAYER
CHAIN
Pray with and/or for people who call for prayer for themselves or others. Time commitment is usually less than 1 hour per week. Contact: Mary Neely 964-1719. ALTAR
LINENS
Cleaning and caring for the altar cloths, purificators, corporals and other linens used in the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Time commitment, scheduled once every 5-6 weeks. Contact: Doug Slater 480-844-4476. SACRISTANS
Currently commissioned Eucharistic Minister to oversee the preparation of one of our Sunday liturgies. Time commitment is approximately ½ hour before and 10 minutes after a Sunday Mass and various Holy Day Masses. Contact: Doug Slater 480-844-4476. EXTRAORDINARY
MINISTERS
Assist the Presider during the Communion Rite at Mass, distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to the assembly. Time commitment includes 2 training sessions and serving at Sunday Mass when scheduled. Commissioning is for 3 years. Qualifications: Fully initiated Catholic and in full communion with the Church. Proclaim the Word of God during the Liturgy of the Word. Time commitment includes 2 training sessions and proclaiming as scheduled. Commissioning is for 3 years. Because as many people as possible should be involved in liturgical ministry, you may not serve as a lector and an eucharistic minister during the same 3 year period. Qualifications: Fully initiated Catholic and lives a Christian life. Training is held each spring and fall. Contact: Doug Slater 480-844-4476. GIFT
BEARERS
People to bring forward the bread and wine, and to set the altar for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Families or a group of individuals may serve in this ministry. Training provided. Contact: Doug Slater 480-844-4476. ALTAR
SERVERS
Assist the Presider at Mass with the prayer book (Sacramentary), candles, processional cross and incense. Time commitment includes training sessions and serving at least one Sunday Mass per month. Training sessions for new servers twice a year. Minimum age requirement is 4th grade and having received First Communion. Contact: Mich & Patty Etcheverria 898-8246. MUSICAL
OPPORTUNITIES
Minister to the community during Sunday Mass as a singer, instrumentalist, or sound engineer. Spanish and English speaking people needed. Time commitment is each Sunday, plus weekly Wednesday evening rehearsal for singers. Contact: Doug Slater 844-4476. ART
and ENVIRONMENT TEAM
Assist in preparing and decorating the worship space for the liturgical seasons throughout the year. Seasonal meetings, with additional time needed for set-up as each season draws near. Contact: Frank Barajas 830-3075. VOCATIONS

COMMISSION
